I’m self employed and I can’t see that I am ever going to have no work.

I might earn a bit less but the government will top up the earnings so that’s not much of a worry.

But if everything did go wrong I’d just go and earn some money doing something else. No reason to worry.

yes i am i use to be self employed making enviromentally friendly fuels for cars,lorrys etc i paid all the dutys by the book! & ive had nothing but hassle from the government since i started ! unreasonable demands for money,being followed most of the time by hm c&e i could go on & the government go on about climate change ! its a load of bulls**t !

I lost my job, but was fortunate to find another one right away - even though it pays a lot less and is not in a sector that I would have chosen to work in. But I know I’m just lucky to have a job - five of my friends also lost theirs and right now only two have managed to find other jobs.

I haven’t lost my home because I don’t own one! That to me is the one upside of the whole recession. I’m almost 30 years old, I earn decent money, and yet as a single person living in London I have never been able to afford a house. I know that the house price crash is causing some people to lose out, but really, it’s not on that houses are just unaffordable for so many people and it’s a good thing that prices are now being corrected.

To be honest, I’m not too worried about the recession overall. Yes, a lot of people are going to lose their jobs this year, but I think that things will pick up early next year and therefore people will just have to struggle through this year as best they can. Those who are going to suffer are those who have taken on massive debts in the past and now can’t afford to repay them - but it’s their own fault for borrowing too much in the first place.

I am retired but my everloving still works. We have found our savings worth less than half what they were a year ago, our house worth 150.000 pounds less than it was a year ago, our car illegal, our way of life threatened and ridiculed and our opinion of our wonderful labour “government” even less, if possible, likely to be printable.

I guess if you working really hard at ur workplace , bringing in good results , then you don’t need to worry!

All that worries me are the rising prices of almost everything! My monthly budget keeps rising every month!

No. But I wish I was. I am self employed and struggling to make ends meet, losing money sometimes. At least the dole pays rent and council tax. I am seriously considering signing on.
